While painting this I was listening to Leon Redbone’s “Big Chief Buffalo Nickel” and couldn’t resist using that as the title.
Recently I painted Old Faithful at Yellowstone National Park, and in that painting I included some of the Bison that roam freely there. As preparation for that painting I did a number of studies of those magnificent animals, and in the process I developed a greater interest in painting them.
This is a recent painting that resulted from that newfound interest. I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed painting it.
