6x6-inch PLEIN AIR PALETTE KNIFE PAINTING.
Most of my paintings are done with brushes, but occasionally I enjoy using just the palette knife to complete an entire painting. It creates a very bold, dramatic effect as you see here.

This was painted on location, on an overcast and windy day. The colors of the landscape were very muted compared to the days when we have bright sunny skies. I very much enjoyed the effects of the weather conditions and wanted to capture that in this painting. I was pleased with the result.
