TOM BROWN PAINTING OF UNUSUAL TOMATOES

One of my oil painting students gave me these homegrown tomatoes as a thank you gift.

I can’t remember the name of the larger tomato at the top of the painting, but it’s very unusual and it inspired me to arrange a few of these beautiful colors together and paint them.

The photo on the left shows the entire gift basket of luscious tomatoes. The photo on the right shows this painting in progress in my studio.
