I am an American artist and I host a TV Art Instruction show where I teach studio oil painting and plein air painting in the Impressionist style. I also teach other artists how to paint through oil painting workshops and art instruction CDs and DVDs. My Impressionist plein air landscapes, still life compositions, portraits and figure paintings have been represented through prominent galleries for more than 20 years. My paintings are in corporate collections including the City of Irvine, Sears, Standard Oil, and Coca Cola. My work is often seen in leading art publications like Southwest Art, Art & Antiques, American Art Review, American Art Collector, Art Calendar and others. I am a former president of the Orange Art Association and past member of the Laguna Plein Air Painters Association and Southern California Plein Air Painters Association. On my Daily Painter blog I offer affordable small original oil paintings to introduce my work to new and ongoing collectors. An orgy of Spoons! A crescendo of cutlery! Wonderful. I've been on Fine Art America, under artist menue: RadicalReconstructionFineArt, and I get a lot of lookers but no buyers, do you suppose it's because the site only sells reproductions, rather than originals? Test it, try putting your stuff up there (it's free for the first 24 images) and see if you sell, there is a similar artist to you, he sells thirty reproductions each month, and he only has six images posted to choose from. He got a cold call from National Geographic, asking if he would do the cover, but they finally told him that he wasn't 'in the game' and passed on his work, because he didn't know the ropes, whatever that means. My guess is that they are used to hard sell' he was just too polite to close the deal.
