I encourage every artist to get outside with your paints and work directly from nature. Enjoy life; absorb the experience with all your senses. It will be reflected in your painting, and your day will be much richer for the experience.

I begin teaching a new 5-session plein air workshop in Southern California on May 2nd. Come join the group if you live near Orange County. We will meet 5 Saturday mornings at a new location each time and paint a variety of landscapes. I give lots of individual attention to each artist, and all skill levels are welcome. You're sure to enjoy yourself.

Email me for details: tombrownstudio@cox.net. I'd love to see you all there.

Thanks for looking. Enjoy the view and have a wonderful day!

I have an 11 year old friend, her name is Carrie Roekle, she is an American Indian, from exactly this landscape, she has an American Indian Casino trust fund to study art when she gets to college. Somehow we have to get her in touch with you and these California paintings of yours, she loves my work (God only knows why, it's beautiful but eccentric in a way that only a kid could love, I guess) I would rather that she became attached to more marketable work, such as yours. My work is just for me, and people who don't know anything, like the Rothschilds, and the National Gallery, you know, people who have to everything because they can't make a decision. You would far better influence Carrie than I am. Maybe I will give her fifth grade class a print out of your website to get started. She was in the Pageant of the Masters last year. Love Nancy Wood, (Any suggestions for young artists? Classes they could attend, or shows?)
