Click the picture to see a larger image. This is the harbor at Balboa Island in Newport Beach, California. I have painted this charming area many times, both alone and with other artists during plein air workshops I conduct. On the day shown in this painting it was slightly overcast, which muted the colors throughout the scene. The effect is very restful and serene.
